About Rabbi Matan Peled

Israeli native, Rabbi Matan Peled has been described as an energetic, warm and caring teacher and spiritual guide who brings his engaging personality and zest for education to every aspect of his work. His goal is to bring a dynamic and meaningful Judaism into people’s lives through a variety of creative media. He brings his passion for nature to his rabbinate in unique ways; Peled is acclaimed for his guided, Jewish hikes and tours. Having been raised in Israel, Rabbi Matan knows that building personal connections with Judaism is not limited to time spent in a synagogue building. What excites him most in his role as rabbi is getting to be part of people’s “wow moments.” He understands that, in today’s world, people can find community in a variety of settings. Peled says, “If Judaism doesn’t enrich lives, then people will seek out other ways to fill their lives with meaning. My goal is to make Judaism accessable, exciting and relevant.”

Rabbi Matan graduated from Gratz College in 2008 with a degree in Jewish Studies. In 2016, he received his Master of Arts in Hebrew Letters and Rabbinical Ordination (s’micha) from the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College.

He spent the last few years living back in Israel after having worked for 15 years in the United States as a pulpit rabbi and educator. In Israel, he served as a reform rabbi and dove into the world of hi-tech. Since relocating back to the US, he has been working as a rabbi-educator and pulpit rabbi.

He shares his life with his wife, Jennifer, who is a cantor, their twin children & many animals.
